Newton has some very good shopping malls bordering the City Centre. It is a shoppers delight. There are many shops, cafes and eateries here. There are people of various cultural backgrounds. Some of the nearby suburbs like Golden Grove, Australian Technology Park are in the process of setting more shops, hotels, eateries and pubs to make the nightlife more vibrant and active.

It is the pride of the local residents and they can come here on weekends and enjoy the 44 hectare park. This park also has beautiful hills surrounding it, you could also get to see some green grasslands and wetlands. It also boasts of some well maintained sporting fields.

Shopping Malls and Centres

King Street is a delight for shoppers. There are more than twenty galleries which have antique pieces of arts and artifacts. You could shop for music, household ware, gift items etc. There are also bookstores which put up discounts and sales of old books and magazines.

The shops here also offer antique pieces of craft which could include anything from antique buttons, beads and many other funky pieces of jewellery of the Victorian era.

Erskineville is another place which has many shops and there are many galleries and bookstores too.

There are about 120 dining places on the King Street. The Enmore Road also has many eateries which serve delicious and ethnic cuisines. The cuisines are mainly Italian, Indian and Japanese. Most of the restaurants are also open till late at night and they are economically priced. You could get a decent meal at any of these eateries.

There are many pubs here and nightlife is very interesting. These pubs also serve some very good food and there are dining areas and cafes at most of the pubs too.
